This is the only work in this series (as yet) where I’ve painted within the limits of shape – thus positing the idea of a space within. The work is inspired by designs of psychedelic posters and the interpretation of space through line and tone. Although something of a departure from the other works in the series, it still focuses (!) on the notion vision and optics and subjective / objective perception. The smooth curves suggested in the shapes echo many images in the 1960s and early 1970s.

Fairly dark to look at face on, as you move around it the iridescent inks ‘light up’ – as photographed below.
