(2022)
Ink on cream cartridge paper
70.2 x 50cm
This is the first in this pen and ink series to mix the brighter colours one may associate with 1960s psychedelic posters with the darker more traditional ink tones. There is a mix between flat colour, iridescent inks. This seemed a natural progression from the camera bellows works where I found I was developing a visual language based upon a mixture of psychedelic poster lines, (and thus referencing Art Nouveau), medieval shapes (echoing the revival of Victorian pseudo-medieval imagery) and the camera bellows which has come to signify notions of notions of objectivity and chemical processing / fixing of human perception.
